Is the placement help service really free?
Yes. Families never pay for this service. If you choose a provider we introduce you to, that provider may pay AusCareGuide a fee. This never changes the price you pay, and we will only recommend providers that suit your needs.
What is the difference between residential aged care and Support at Home?
Residential aged care means moving into an aged care home with 24-hour staffing. Support at Home is the Australian Government program that funds care services in your own home, such as personal care, nursing and help around the house. It replaced the Home Care Packages Program on 1 November 2025.
Do I need an aged care assessment before choosing a provider?
To receive government-subsidised aged care you first need an assessment, arranged through My Aged Care. You can start comparing providers at any time, and we can help you understand the assessment process while you wait.
